Hi Can't get Tapo C310 camera to work with Google Assistant. Have tried to reset everything but does not work. I can see the camera in the google home app but can not stream to google cast.

Well I managed to fix the problem though my router. I deactivated the band steering and seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you

Hi all,

Thanks for posting in the Community and apologies for the late response. I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with streaming your Tapo camera. Would like to know what command you are giving when streaming the device? You can also check out this link to know more on how to control your Tapo camera with Google Assistant.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Nikki

Thanks for replying. I give the correct commands. The response is that Google nest is casting the camera to the chromecast. Then chromecast shows a black screen for 10 or 20 seconds and then a message that there was a problem. I have 3 types of tapo cameras and I cannot cast any of them.

Hi Spyridon,

Thanks for the details. Have you tried to cast manually using the Tapo app? Also, what other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Best,

Nikki

I can cast them to my phone through tapo app. I cannot cast them to chromecast. I reset everything and set them again, changed the wifi settings and I have granted any license needed. I do have some tapo led lights that work fine with Google nest.

Thank you

Hi Spyridon,

Thanks for taking those steps. For us to isolate more of the issue, we can try setting up the Chromecast and Tapo camera in a hotspot. You will be needing two mobile devices, one will work as the set up phone and the other one as the router. Once set up try checking if you will be able to stream the camera on Chromecast. Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Nikki

Yes still didn't fix it. I was away for a few days.

Hi Spyridon,

Thanks for trying. Other than your camera, are there other home automation devices linked to your Google Nest speakers? Have you checked if they are working?

Princess

Well I didn't have the chance to do what was suggested yet. I will in a few days.
