Thermostat shows in app but zero control

I cannot work this out.

My nest has been installed for years - amazing!

I had to 'migrate' to google - the app now shows my thermostat with home/away & external temperature only.

Cannot control the device remotely - just by turning the RING.

Tried to ADD again but cannot extract a code as the device is ALREADY registered to an account - MY ACCOUT BUT I CANNOT ACCESS IT???

Really frustrated with this....    the NEXT - GOOGLE changeover has been one of the poorly executed changes I have ever witnessed.

The HELP SCREENS suggest GOOGLE HOME.... absolutely NO support with this.

Google have trashed a perfectly working device & sprinkled the 'world reaching' DOOM DUST.

Happy days.

I feel you on this, My google thermostat can not be controlled by my other devices. I can see it on my hub but can not control it. My mini speakers do not let set a alarm in english it says I dont understand. But will let me set it in Spanish. Im considering just moving over to Echo.

Hi everyone,

@DarrenRBrown, thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest Community. We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you. Let’s reset the Nest thermostat to factory reset and start fresh. Follow the steps below:

Remove the Nest Thermostat from your Google Home app.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings Remove device Remove.

Once done, reset the Nest Thermostat to factory reset.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. select Factory Reset.
  3. Your thermostat will ask you to confirm your choice. Once you've confirmed, your thermostat will take a few moments to reset.

Once done, add the device back into your account and try to control it.

@Lowkito, we apologize for any trouble this might have caused you. Could you also do the same troubleshooting steps and update us with the result?

Keep us posted.

Best,

Renz

Nest is working on the app.

I logged in with my original ‘non-Google’ email address.

Cannot get Alexa integration to work.

Have installed ‘Google home’ - will not find the nest thermostat.

Tried to add manually on Google home. The  Page asks for the code from the nest.

The code is not available as the thermostat is already registered to an account.

Nest works fine with app & through web interface.

I’m a little frustrated.
