Trouble Connecting Google Home to TP-Link Kasa App and Device

kae1

Hi,

I just got the Google Home App and I have some TP-Link Kasa devices that I want to link to the Google Home App (they should work). I have the smart lights set-up in the Kasa App and I can control them from there. When trying to link it to Google Home App it tries and goes to the oauth-redirect.googleusercontent.com..... link but gives 404 error and says "The requested URL was not found on this server". I tried deleting both apps and reinstalling them but that didnt fix the issue. This is on iPhone 15.

Hi kae1,

Thanks for reaching out. Let’s further look into this. Do you have the Google Assistant app installed on your phone? Also, what is your default browser? Install the Google Assistant app, then uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app. If you’re using Safari as the default browser, change it to Chrome in the meantime. Log into the Google Home app and proceed with linking your TP-Link Kasa account once more.

If the issue persists, copy the URL, open the Chrome browser, and paste the link. Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

I am having the same issue as @kae1 .

I have installed Google Chrome and set it as my default browser and installed Google Assistant. When I select TP-Link Kasa from the Google Home app, I am redirected to the same 404 error site. The broken link happens on both Safari and Chrome.
