can't add nest hub max from home app as it says it needs activation

Hi,

My Home app can "see" the new nest hub max, but it won't let me set it up as it is greyed out and has (needs activation) after it.

 

Any help greatly appreciated

I'm having the same issue. I've setup other Nest hubs as recently as last week. This is a new one.

I originally had this problem when using my Pixel 6 to do the setup. I tried this with another phone and it works fine. It appears there may be something Pixel 6 specific in this problem. If you can try another phone, do that. If not, hopefully Google will have a patch available soon.

confirmed, pixel 6 does not work activating nest hub.  I had to use an old motorola android for this part.  wow, its so disappointing that google hasn't fixed this issue.

Confirmed Pixel 6 does NOT allow you to setup any devices on the Google Home app. After a week of trying, I suppose I must accept this.
