nest yale lock not connecting to nest connect

When white button is pressed all i get is three beeps and no blue light. I have reset to factory , removed and reinstalled nest connect. Light is green on nest connect. This was working just fine until i removed lock to do some door repair and had it powered off for 5 or 6 hrs. When i reconnected it all that would work is master code. I removed it from account to set it back up and its been down hill from there. Any idea why lock will not go into setup?

Hi myred53,

Thanks for your efforts and I'm sorry to hear that. No worries, I'm with you on this. Let's check this out — a few questions:

  1. Did you get an error message/code during setup?
  2. How far is your Nest x Yale lock from your Nest Connect and router?
  3. What's the status light of your lock?

Give these steps a try:

  • Restart your lock.
  1. Take off the battery cover and remove the batteries from your lock. If you received a low battery alert, use a fresh set of standard AA batteries. Don't use rechargeable batteries with your lock.
  2. Wait a few minutes to check if your lock comes back online.
  • Use your Nest app to re add your lock.
  • Close all the apps running in the background of your phone reopen the Nest app then try adding it again.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT

Thanks for your reply. I have reset back to factory settings and removed lock and connect from my account.

The connect installed ok but when i get to the point where you push white button to install lock it doesnt turn blue. I just get the error chime from lock. Of course if i hit ok on phone i get the something went wrong error T026/(4060). I have seen multiple people with this same error but have not seen a fix. its like the lock will not go in discover mode for some reason. When it gets error chime is there a way to see what it complaining about?

thanks

The connect is about 20 ft from router and lock is 5ft from the connect.

Hi myred53,

Got it! Great troubleshooting so far. Let's further check — try these additional steps:

  1. Try moving your Nest Connect closer to your router at least 5 to 10 feet.
  2. Check for sources of wireless interference. Thick walls, floors, appliances, furniture, and even other electronics on the same network can cause interference.
  3. Unplug your router. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Your modem and router will start. Wait a couple of minutes, or until you see steady power and connection lights.
  4. Factory reset the Nest × Yale Lock.

Let me know how it works.

Best,

JT
