"Something went wrong" When Connecting to Philips Hue

emj2022

This is the most frustrating thing. It worked fine in my previous 2 homes and now I can't connect my Philips Hue bridge to my Google Home - it connects and says "Philips Hue is linked" then "Something went wrong. Try again". I have 2 minis and 2 hub max screens and can't use any of them.

I found several forums on here with a similar issue and followed all the steps: I reset my Philips Hue bridge and reconnected all my lights/switches and then deleted and redownloaded the Google Home app, I restarted my phone and did the above, I ensured both Google and Hue are connected to the same wifi and are using the same @Gmail account as a sign-in. I do not have a mesh wifi, just regular wifi. Everything else works fine in Google home except Hue and nothing will fix it - it's driving me nuts. Nothing works.

Can someone please help?

Hey emj2022,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I know how it feels when you can't link your Philips Hue devices on the Google Home app. To confirm, how many accounts do you have on Philips Hue? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Go to https://goo.gle/2OGzpIR
  2. Log in with the same account linked on the Google Home app.
  3. Scroll down and go to "Linked Accounts," then unlink Philips Hue from their.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

3) Deactivate all "Google" activated account
4) Launch Hue app on the phone
5) Click on the "Settings" icon at the top right.
6) Click on "My Bridges"

😎 Click "Clean Up" and confirm.
9) Go to Google Home and link the Hue account as usual
10) Note that the lights don't show up right away. You need to leave the Home Control page, wait a few minutes, then go back.
