2 Floodlight cams will not reconnect

Internet went down, nest doorbell & nest lock work fine. Both floodlight cams refuse to reconnect.

Factory reset & powered off both cams, updated phone, updated apps, reinstalled apps, factory reset router/ wifi. Tried creating new homes, and tried connecting on both 2.4/5ghz.

Both cams connected to my tmobile hotspot no problem.

Nest support says its cox's problem because cameras connect to hotspot. Cox says it's nests problem because the cams have a backup battery that you cannot totally reset 🙄.  Please help

Sorry for the late reply, It was cox's equipment after all! It took the 5th cox representative to listen and give me a new modem (had to go to a local cox communications office this time) No more issues!! Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same issues!

I have the same problem with my floodlight camera when I changed my router and ssid was different. I tried everything you did also.  All of my other outdoor and indoor cameras, and my doorbell camera work fine. Beyond frustrating. Plus I wonder why the floodlight camera is only able to be used with Google home app and not also with the nest app.200 plus dollars of JUNK for this flood light.

Never had issues with the ring floodlights I had at my old house 🙄

Does floodlight with camera not connect to Nest App? I wish I had known beforehand. Nowhere did Google product say it would not be compatible. I assumed it would. I would not have purchased product otherwise. Google Home is too cumbersome. Feel ripped off.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting. Let's sort this out.

@Km009, — We're sorry to hear about what happened. A few questions: what is the make and model of your router? Were there any recent updates to your router? Check this link for your reference.

@Jajamms and @Beradeddad — Do you see any error codes? How far is the Wifi router from your Nest Cam with floodlights? Also, you can check out this link for more help.

@Thelma — I understand what you mean. For the old version of Nest Cams you may still use the Nest App but for new versions of Nest Cams you can only control them remotely through the Google Home App.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Emerson

I am having similar issues with my 2 outdoor battery cameras.  Both worked fine then tried switching Wi-Fi networks and now they won’t connect.  Tried what the home app suggests and still nothing.  Any help out there?  All of my wires cameras connected fine to new network

Try to hook your camera up to your cell phone's wifi hotspot (tether). Mine connected so I finally got new equipment from cox and it fixed everything! It took 5 cox reps to get one to listen.

Last resort before I make another round of tech support calls lasting 7 hours again- I unplugged cameras, going to wait a week to see if the backup battery dies, and try again 🙄. I read it worked for someone else, we will see...

Unplugging the cameras for a week didn't fix it. Went to cox store and got a different modem/router box. I'll keep you posted when I get home and try it.
