I am baffled to learn that you can no longer stream the latest 2nd gen wire cameras like you could with past generations of Nest cameras. Not only that, but you lose functionality because you can't add the latest cameras to the Nest app and need to set it up in the Home app.
Anyone else dealing with this issue? Is it worth returning latest cameras and going to buy older cameras off of Ebay?
I understand Google is building Nest products into the Home app but when functionality is reduced during integration it affects your customers. This gets worse when Google doesn't communicate whether or not the functionality will be added.

That's something that hasn't been mentioned yet, sorry. I don't understand why this feature is missing either?

I purchase the new cams 9 months ago when they came out. When I learned they didn't work with the NEST app I returned them and did just what you said. I bought previous gen cams off ebay and I'm a happy camper. I thought I would do this until such time that they significantly improve the Google Nest app. It has been 9 months and we have yet to see one feature from the Nest app brought forth to the Google Home app. The list of things missing is very long.
