Here's an idea. Since Google screwed up our Nest Cameras for the past month with v1.67 of its firmware, what about adding an alarm feature to the Nest outdoor cameras, kind of like Ring has? 🙂

"Only a month" gee you're lucky... Mine have been faulty for over a year. Because of googles inaction i sorta have it as a mission to deter prospective buyers from being ripped off buying these faulty products. So much so I've added negative reviews on any reatail site possible. If google would recognize and accept they're at fault fine id be ok with it. Them constantly lying though is another thing. Just because you're a large company doesn't mean you can constantly lie and not expect repercussions. I complained to the department store where i bought mine and showed the general manager the emails from google support and he pulled the cameras from sale in his store. He said if there's no after sales service he's not selling them. Google wont care about that at all. It was a small win for me though... And yeah an alarm would be awesome. At the moment i just play a recording of the purge siren that has been effective at times "if the cameras ever work that is which is about 1% of the time".

Hello everyone,
@RavenManiac, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To make sure that we're on the same page, are you referring to a security alarm when there's a thief who wants to steal your Nest Camera? We'd love to hear more about it.
@Anonymous, thanks for chiming in.
Regards,
Emerson

Not necessarily. I'm more concerned with somebody breaking into my house or car than them stealing my Nest camera. The way the Ring camera alarm works is it can be activated by sensors that detect the presence of an unauthorized person, or it can be manually activated. Since Google Nest cameras already have built-in person or animal detection, this would seem like a no-brainer. An alarm is a lot more menacing than telling a person to leave.
