All 4 of my nest cameras are offline all day. They are blinking blue.

I've rebooted the cameras and the router. I know the internet is fine because I have another wifi camera (not nest) that has been working fine on the same network. This is a business so its critical I have these camera back online.

Hi, I tested it now for two days and your solution seems to work. I actually went into settings and removed application from there (last time I removed it from the welcome screen).

after reinstall and with a clear cache it seems that it also after a freezing resets itselfs.

thanks!!

Hi, since a couple of weeks I have the same problem. Camera's who have never give me any issues are now going offline (thinking blue) and are not coming back online. I need to close the application and restart the app so it will go for a few more seconds after going back offline.
First I thought it was my wifi network (Google wifi) so I installed extra hubs but nope....didn't changed anything. So is it possible the problem is @Nest itself?

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

Let's see what's going on with your Nest camera devices. Did you make any changes to your Wi-Fi network? How far are them from your Wi-Fi router? Also, check out this link for additional help.

Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Thanks,

Archie

Thanks for the response,

well since a while we have this issue that after some time the cameras do seem to go offline(blue wheel spinning in screen).

And the view doesn’t come back live, only option is to close the app and restart it. Than it will go for some time before it go back offline (blue wheel spinning)

so I thought I put an extra WiFi point in my Google WiFi network. So this hub is like 2meters from the two cameras we use to check on our kids. But it didn’t solved the problem.
only option is to close the app and restart. And we also did a complete reinstall .

I tried today with the Google home app to see if watching live camera was possible in this application. But it’s also not working. After a while screen comes black and live image will not come up anymore……

I really wonder what happened, didn’t changed anything in my house and cameras where always working fine but now all of a sudden all these issues….😕

Update: throughout the app still same problem on all my apple devices: iPhone and iPad.
blue network connection circle starts spinning and will not recover unless I close the app and restart.

tried today on my MacBook and surprisingly when the connection issue starts, after a while it recovers and pick up again. So it seems to me it’s a problem with the app. Anybody also this problem??

Hey DavidLaporte,

Thanks for the update. Could you try using an Android phone or tablet to isolate this? Have you tried force closing the Google Home app, then restart your phone? Also, reinstalling the app to see if that helps. Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi, i will not be able to test this on an android device because I don’t have any.

Also I also have reinstalled the app Nest as Google home multiple times without any change in behaviour of the fall out of cameras.

the only thing what is working is my laptop. Also in here the blue circle starts spinning but the application finds a way of resetting itself and cameras are back live.
And in the mobile app it doesn’t reset but continuously has the blue circle spinning. Like said before can only have live view after closing and reopen the app.

Hey DavidLaporte,

Understood. What's the make and model of your phone? What's the iOS or Android version of it? Also, could you tell us the Google Home app version so we can take a closer look?

Thanks,
Archie

Hi, well it’s still not working on smartphone or tablet.

Iphone 11 iOS 15.5

if I am the only one who is having this problem than you can close the issue.

I use my laptop for the cameras now, this is working because it refresh itself after screen is freezing. Found it just so strange because in all the years I have these cameras never had problems with it.

always using nest application

Hey DavidLaporte,

Thanks for the information. Could you check if there's an available OS update on your phone? Also, have you tried to clear cache the Nest app on your phone settings, then force close the app? Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Archie
