When i open the Google Home app due to a doorbell notification it will always take over my phones audio volume setting (which was previously and intentionally fully muted), and play the audio feed from my doorbell quite loudly. This is very disruptive when I am at work and don't want the doorbell audio to loudly play, I just want to visually look and see whats going on.

Hi rhollingere,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what type of notification do you get when you have this issue? Is it like motion detection, a person seen, a vehicle passed by or is it the live feed? Which Nest Doorbell do you have?
When the microphone is on, your Nest camera’s microphone picks up sound in the area around your camera. If your camera has event video history or 24/7 video history, your camera’s audio is recorded in your video history as long as the microphone is on. When the microphone is off, audio is not streamed or recorded. It's off by default during setup.
Regards,
Emerson
