Battery doorbell phone feedback echoes and screeches

Have you tried turning down the volume on your phone? Or moving away from the doorbell? It's likely feedback caused by the doorbell hearing itself on the phone and the phone hearing itself on the doorbell, in the same way that a microphone on a PA system with the volume set too loud screeches.

I have the same probelem. Wired nest Doorbell. Every thing seems fine until i use Talk and Listen. As long as I don't speak, it stays on. When i speak, or if there is a louder noice in my environment, the sound is echoed louder and louder at the doorbell. Like a microphone in front of a speaker. it gets so loud that the camera in the doorbell shuts off (green light turns off, can't connect in the app). The power is still on, the blue ring around the button stays on.

This happens with my iPhone 7, with the Google Nest Hub, and with a Xiami redme 9 pro. The problem is somewhere in the Doorbell itself: the sound it plays from me answering through talk and listen is picked up by the microphone and starts echoing. Apparently echo cancellation is not working as it should.

Since this is a wired doorbell i can't adjust volume through the app.

Don't tell me to restart and reboot, i already did, several times.

@Jonneke

How far away is your Camera do your phone when you are testing the Talk and Listen feature?

It does it everywhere, There’s two closed doors between them, sound set low. Or when i am on the second floor. It also does is with the Google Hub. It’s doorbell itself picking up the sound it broadcasts/maybe going back and forth in the open call, but its not the phone or hub making sound that the doorbell picks up externally

Thx Brad, it’s a wired Doorbell - no audiosetting available
