Everything went well with the configuration of the Nest Battery Doorbell. This is the 6th Nest doorbell I've installed this week for myself and friends. This last one rings the chime as soon as I hook the wires up and doesn't stop until I disconnect the wires. I think it must be defective. There is nothing special about the wires or the transformer. Just bad luck I think.

Since the battery doorbell does not have a "chime puck", it does seem like you have a defective battery doorbell. Is the doorbell button somehow stuck in a depressed position?

The battery doorbell has screw lugs so then one can connect the wired AC power and chime. There's a slide switch to turn on the chime in the Home app. I did 2 other wired chime with a battery doorbell last week and they work fine. I did 3 battery only as well. I'm not sure why it doesn't need the puck. I know the more expensive "wired" model does need the puck. Perhaps, being newer it's built in. In any case I returned it to Costco as defective. They'll send a replacement and I'll try again. The wiring is very basic so I don't think it's the wire or transformer or the chime. But I'm wrong 29 times a day; so it could be that I'm wrong again. Hello everyone,
@X7C00 thanks for posting here in the community. Let's go ahead and see what we can do here. Aside from what MplsCustomer is asking, what is the power and voltage of your transformer? Hit this link for more information.
Keep us posted.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

I returned and the original doorbell. I received a replacement; but I've been sick with a cold for the last week. So I haven't tried to install the replacement. I will publish the Transformer info when I do. It was an odd problem the chime rang continuously. This is not usually a low voltage problem. The button wasn't stuck. So we'll see what happens with the new device. I'll do it probably later this week. I have 2 dual light Google security cameras to install at the same time. Should be fun.
