Camera Wifi Connection

Beerwig

I was able to add an extender to my wifi network provided by Comcast Xfinity and would like to connect my new outdoor nest camera(battery) to my wifi through the extender provided network. The name of the extender network is different than the network provided by Xfinity. For example, the main network is Home-1578 and the extender network is Home-1578ext 5G. My question is can I go through the install process with the camera outside so it attaches to the extender network? I followed the install directions and set up the camera close to the router and I am under the impression that the camera is using the main network instead of the extended network due to it disconnecting when I move it further away. I have verified that the location I want to install the camera has 90 mbps download and 18 mbps upload. Any help getting it to connect to the extended network would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
