So trying to get indoor/outdoor cameras to work. Got Google home app ok. Scan QR code. Seems to prepare camera ok but every time it gets to the next stage in the setup “connecting to joining device” we get “something went wrong try again”.
Any ideas/help?
Done all the things you are told to do, phone airplane mode off/on, reset modem etc, to no avail.

For a year and a half I've been seeing posts from customers unable to install an additional Google Nest device due to a "joining device" or "assisting device" error. Apparently, Google Nest's install process, instead of letting you enter your Wi-Fi credentials, tries to get those credentials from an already-installed Google Nest device. Unfortunately, that process sometimes fails.
Some customers have been able to avoid the error and complete their install by turning off their other Google Nest devices during the install process. Others have created a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure", installed their device there, then removed the device and reinstalled it in their original "home/structure", and then deleted the now-empty second "home/structure". Sometimes neither works.
