Camera w/Spotlight

I just tried to setup my Camera w/Floodlight.  Simple to install, no aggravation ... until now.

I can scan the QR Code and it accepts the input.

"Looking for devices" doesn't find it.

Then it says "Connecting to assisting Nest Device" and it doesn't find it.

It says: "Can't connect to assisting device"

Now I have no lights in my driveway and a $259 camera/light that doesn't do anything, other than show a little green light.
My Network signal is strong and I can connect my phone to the Network, 75' away from the Nest Camera.  The Camera is only 40' from my Router.

Any ideas?   Thank you!

The wifi strength must not be good in that particular area- try moving your router closer, or removing and adding the device back again

I just added a Wifi extender.   Distance to Router = 20', distance to Camera = 20' ... .no luck.

My Extender is showing a MAC address that's connecting to it, but I can't figure out how to identify what has that Mac address, although I suspect it's the Camera.

If you search this forum for "assisting device" or "assisting nest product" or "assisting nest device" (in quotes), you'll find numerous other posts with various customer-suggested solutions with mixed results. To the best of my knowledge, Google Nest Support says they are working on this but as yet have no definitive solution(s) to recommend.

My apologies for not being able to offer a specific solution; I'm just another customer and have not encountered this dilemma.

Thanks for trying.  Nest sure isn't what it used be, before Google bought them.  I've installed 5-6 Nest Thermostats on sophisticated HVAC systems, with little or no problem.  The one time I had a problem, I called their Tech Support and the talked me right through it.

I bought a Nest Thermostat yesterday, that said it was compatible with my system and I didn't need a "C Wire" ... that doesn't work.  I have someone coming today, to install a C Wire, for $125.

I was dumb enough, to also buy the Spotlight w/Camera and I can't get that to work ... after spending 2 hours on a ladder, to remove my existing Spotlights and install the Nest ... all to no avail.  Now I have no Thermostat, no Spotlights, no camera.

Problem Solved by Google/Nest Support on the phone.

We solved it, by creating another Google Home Account, on my other phone.  Everything went smooth from there.

In retrospect, he's what was going on.  I had installed a Nest Thermostat on the Account, yesterday.  I disconnected the Nest, so it was no longer active.   When I tried to connect the Camera, it kept looking for the Nest and couldn't find it.   We first tried to solve it, by creating a "New Home", but for some reason, the App wouldn't let me ... probably a phone software glitch.  Luckily I have another phone, so we were able to start over, from scratch.

Their Tech Support guy was AWESOME!    15 minute, I was up and running.
