Can't Add 4th Camera

I currently have 3 Nest Cameras through the Google Home app, all working fine. I'm trying to add a 4th one, an Indoor 2nd Gen (I have an identical camera already working).

I don't have the QR Code so I'm using the Setup Code and Last 4 digits of the Serial Number.

I've tried to add it through the Home app multiple times but won't let me add it. Sometimes I get an error message saying it has to be added using the Nest app so I've tried that too. On the Nest app, it goes through the process until I try to enter the last 4 of the Serial Number. I type it in but there's no button on the app to continue or submit it.

I know my WIFI and everything else is working OK because the other 3 cameras are working. I tried Restarting the 4th camera but that didn't work. Then I did a Factory Reset on it. It goes through the process and I get the flashing yellow lights but it still won't add it after that.

Any suggestions?

Can anyone help me figure out why this 4th camera isn't connecting?

Hi there!

Thanks for sharing the details of your Nest camera setup issue. It sounds like you've already tried some great troubleshooting steps. Let's try a few more to get your camera up and running.

To recap, you're having trouble adding a fourth Nest Indoor 2nd Gen camera to your Google Home app.

Check for Network Interference:

  • Try moving the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router to see if it improves the connection.
  • Temporarily disable any other Wi-Fi devices that might be causing interference.

Check for Google Home App Updates:

  • Make sure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app.

Check Your Phone or Tablet

  • Make sure it's on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Nest device.
  • Bluetooth must be enabled, but not connected to any Bluetooth devices.
  • Cellular data must be turned off.

Additional iOS Settings

  • On the iOS device's home screen, tap Settings.
  • Tap Privacy > Local Network.
  • On the list of apps, turn on Local Network Access for the Nest or Home app.

Perform Factory Reset Again

  • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset on the device again.

Note: After performing these steps, it's essential to follow the setup process carefully, ensuring accurate entry of the setup code and serial number.

If you've tried all these steps and are still experiencing issues, please let me know.

Best,

Brandon.
