I recently installed two Nest battery security cameras outside my home. Both function well in the Google Home app. I also have a Nest Hub Max inside the house, which is also set up and working well in Google Home. I keep reading that the Nest cameras can be controlled with Google Assistant ("Hey Google, turn off the patio camera"), but Assistant tells me the cameras haven't been linked to Assistant. I go through my assistant settings and open the connected devices section, and all my speakers and my Nest Hub are there, but no Nest cameras. In the Assistant settings, I can add a device, but that appears to prompt a new device installation, and the cameras are already set up in Home. What am I missing?

Hey, just wondering if you figured this issue out at all? I’m facing the same problem now.

Nope. Can't control these two cameras with Assistant even though they are both installed and visible in the Home app. Just keeps saying "this device hasn't been linked to Assistant" or something to that effect.

Hi there,
Just checking in to see how the conversation is going as there's been a lapse in activity on this thread.

You replied Thursday and said these cameras don't work with Assistant. There's not really any need for more conversation. That's a huge disappointment, but shame on me for not doing more research before I bought a Google "smart home" product that doesn't work with Google Assistant.

I totally understand your frustrations, and I know I would feel the same if I found that out. I just wanted to make sure that there was nothing further you may need from this thread. If you no longer need assistance with this thread, i'll go ahead and close it now. Thank you for your patience.
Best regards,
Brad

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. Unfortunately, Assistant doesn't work how you would hope on these cameras. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Best Regards,
Brad
