Can't re-add 1st gen Nest Cam Indoor to Google Home

Hello, I have 3 Nest cameras (1st gen indoor, indoor wired, and outdoor wired). When the Google Home Public Preview app came out, I updated to that version. Up to a few months ago, everything was working fine. Then, my wife and I started getting very frequent notifications that the 1st gen indoor and outdoor wired cams were offline, even though we were getting video from both in the Home app.

In an attempt to troubleshoot the issue, I removed the 1st gen indoor cam from the Home app and tried to re-add it. Now, whenever I try to add it, the Home app finds it, but fails every time after it tries to add it to the wifi.

When I power up the cam, I do see it join the wifi again, so removing the cam from the Home app didn't actually factory reset the cam. From the small amount of documentation I've found about the cam, there is no button on the cam to reset it.

I've tried restarting my phone, clearing Google home's cache, trying Google Home on an iPad, restarting the wifi, and leaving the cam off for several days.

Are there any tips to get the camera back on Google Home? Thanks in advance.

This may be a defect of the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (which has been in "Preview" status since Nov. 2022). We have several 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells, but are not using the "Public Preview" version and have not "transferred" any of our cameras or doorbells to the "Public Preview" version, and we are not seeing the issues you're seeing.

You could try contacting Support to see if they can help you with your "Public Preview" issue:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Thank you, I've contacted the team although they've not been particularly helpful so far and fairly unresponsive. I still do believe it's a bug in the Public Preview, is there a way to actually submit a bug report for the Public Preview of Google Home?

Google Nest does not have a formal "bug report" capability.

We're not on the "Public Preview" version, but according to the Help topic below, you can--in the Google Home app--go to Public Preview | Share Feedback.
