Can't save a clip

I had an incident occur this morning out on my road... barely in my camera view, but visible none the less. It did not create an event on my camera and therefore, I have no idea how to export the clip to share it. This seems to be a huge feature for safety that's lacking. My Arlo Pro camera's did a better job of this and I didn't even need to pay a monthly subscription fee! Google... You need to do better if you are advertising 24/7 recording. What good is that if you can't export any of the footage?

As many of us customers discovered, when Google Nest decided that its new cameras and doorbells released starting later in 2021 would work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website, that meant we could ONLY download clips of detected events, and could not manually edit clips for download.

This is a major problem which I have encountered also. Google should correct this.

Thank you for your feedback on this, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest cams in the Nest app like you may be used too. However, you can now use the Google Home web app to view your cameras and doorbells.

 

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Thank you for the reply, but it's not the Google Home app that I have an issue with. I use Google home for many things. It's the functionality that is a major miss here. I could care less what app or how it's done, but if I'm not able to select and save my own clips... This was a very expensive mistake I made for home security and I'll probably need to look into a more robust system. Just very disappointed.

I filed multiple reports regarding this problem with Google,  up to now to no avail. Other users should do as well so that Google take this problem at heart.
