I purchased the Battery doorbell, downloaded the Home App, and followed the instructions. When I scan the QR code and it’s trying to connect the new device, it fails - over and over. Both on iPhone and iPad and I can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m sitting right next to my router with the doorbell plugged in and blue light blinking for setup. Anyone have suggestions?

Honestly it could be too close to the router (crazy but possible).. try with at least 5 feet but no more than 25 feet distance. Also be sure that AP isolation and bandsteering is disabled on the router, and that your phone is on the same network.
