Can the Nest Doorbell (battery) be wired installed to make sure I don't have to charge the battery?

I Have a Nest Hello doorbell(wired). I want to upgrade to the new Battery one, especially for the 3-hour local recording.

That being said, I don't want it to rely on a battery and have to charge it every two months. Therefore, I want to know if it can get power from the same wire as my previous Nest Hello.

Thanks for your help

Hi Samuel,

Yes, the new Nest Doorbell Battery can be powered from your existing doorbell wiring. It requires 8 to 24 VAC, 10 VA and will negate the need to charge the battery.

One thing to be aware of, and I only mention this because you currently have a Nest Hello, is that the Nest Doorbell Battery does not offer 24/7 recording, even when hardwired.

I hope this helps.

All the best,
