Cannot Connect Nest Doorbell to chime

I have a Nest Doorbell wired Gen 2. I have tried to connect the Doorbell to the chime, however the chime when into vibration. The chime has a 230V to 12V transformer.

Is there a different chime type which might work or can I use just a 230V to 12V transformer to connect the NEST doorbell without chime.

Hi there!

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear you cannot connect your Nest Doorbell 2Gen to the chime. I'm happy to help!

Let's try the steps here:

  • Confirm the Nest Doorbell Wired 2Gen receives power.
  • Check if the Chime connector is installed correctly.
  • Check the chime wires.
  • Check if the doorbell wires are securely connected.
  • Check if the transformer is compatible: Your Nest Doorbell 2Gen must be connected to a transformer rated to 16 to 24V AC and at least 10 VA to receive enough power. Refer to this article: Check Nest doorbell compatibility.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
