Cannot connect my 2nd nest cam to my google home

  • I just bought a 2 pack outdoor/indoor nest cam (battery). The first cam connected with no issues but the 2nd cam is not connecting. I've read other threads because it is just not a stand alone issue. I tried adding the 2nd cam to a new home profile, reseting the cam to factory settings, reinstalling the home app- no use. I'm so frustrated because I thought this would be a quick installation but I've been on this for last 4 hrs! Please help!

Looks like the issue has resolved itself. I think it was a router/modem issue and after I reset it, both cameras connected just fine. So far no issues. Thanks for your input guys!

Hi there, by not connecting, specifically at which step did you experience the issue?

I've two indoor ones (wired, 2nd gen) and I were about to return them as they never worked for me.

Here is my experience. They were not able to get pass the "Downloading update" step, but recently I replaced my old wifi router with a new one (NetGear Orbi), I got pass the step and saw green light on the cameras.

HOWEVER, when I went to the camera and tried to see the live stream, it said "Camera unavailable". Funny thing is when I clicked "More" (next to "Live") I can turn on and off the camera (the green light on the camera actually turned on and off). Nevertheless, there is no live stream, and of course no event was captured even though it is "turned on".

I'm using iPhone 12 mini.

Hi. It's at the step after the QR code is read and says "connecting to device" but nothing happens. It says "bring the device closer" or something but then it doesn't connect (cam was right next to my phone).

@NT123

Are you able to temporarily move the camera you are trying to install close to your already-installed camera, in case it is trying to use the installed camera as an "assisting device" from which to obtain your Wi-Fi credentials?
