Charging taking hours.

I've got 2 nest cams. Both are now taking hours to charge & both are saying I should use the original cable & charger.

Given both ARE using the original chargers & cable this has to be a probkem with the hardware.

Is there an actual solution to this issue that doesn't involve getting a new charger & cable? Given its happened twice I'm certain buying or being sent another cable & charger is simply going to leave me with 3 useless chargers instead of 2.

Hi Kelvin64,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing with us your concern. To confirm, where are you seeing the message that you should use the original charger? If you're getting it from the Nest app or Google Home app, could you share the screenshot with us here? So that we take a look and give you the option needed. Also, it may take approximately five hours to fully charge the battery using the provided 7.5W AC adapter and charge cable.

  • If you charge your Nest Camera as needed, the camera’s view will show the battery charge percentage.
  • If you keep your Nest Cam (battery) connected to a compatible USB cable for continuous power, you’ll see the ∞ symbol on the camera’s battery info in the app.

Looking forward to your response.

Emerson
