Although off-site remote monitoring will be the primary use case for most cameras, there are times when on-premises and within range, that a local connection could be established over a much faster band e.g. 802.11ac/ax. A local connection could boost the frame rate without increasing the load on Google's servers, should the LAN support such demands.
For power line driven cameras this would be a differentiating feature over the battery powered offering that could keep healthy competition between the two.
