I can’t login on my Google account via Google nest hello app.

I have triple checked it’s the correct login details, yet it continues to say that it’s incorrect.

it’s pretty annoying as the chime is a Google mini, and I can’t get them synchronized

Hi @Chrisflava

I am assuming you are trying to change the settings of a nest doorbell correct? 🙂
Are you not able to change the settings within the Google Home app?

Could you provide us the error you are getting when you try to login in to the Nest App?

Thanks so much for reply.

firstly I have tried adding the nest via my google home. But the nest app states it’s an incorrect email or password (I am 1000% it is the correct credentials)

after that I have tried to add the nest doorbell using the QR code on the back. However when I do so, google home just go back to the Home Screen, like nothing ever happened.

I have also been in contact with google support, but so far they still don’t have a solution to the problem.

Worth saying also is that I both have google mini and Sonos on my google home, which works perfectly fine.

it’s only the best hello (wired) that won’t add to my google home.

I don’t have any other chime in the house, so wanted to use the google mini as the chime.

@Chrisflava

It's not very clear what you are trying to do, so here's my guess.

If you have a Google Nest Hello Doorbell that is already installed in the Google Nest app, it should automatically appear in the Google Home app, provided that you are logging onto the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with the same Google (gmail) account and are accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" in both apps. (The name of the Google Nest "home/structure" displays near the top of the screen in both apps.)

Once you can see both your Google Nest Hello Doorbell and your Nest Mini in the same "home/structure" in the Google Home app, you can go to Settings | Visitor Announcements for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell in the Google Nest app to enable "visitor announcements" for all Nest Minis, Nest Hubs, and Nest speakers that you may have. @MplsCustomer

many thanks for the very thorough explanation. Much appreciated, however the problem is in my case;

(I have gmail)

- My Nest app works fine

- Google mini and Sonos works fine in google home

I do following steps to add my google nest hello to my google home app.

1. Upper left corner, press the + to add new product, configure unit, configure new unit that works with google.
I thereafter find “nest” however when entering my gmail and the correct password, it says that it’s incorrect. And it is the correct credentials.

2. Tries configuring adding the google nest hello as a new unit, by scanning the QR code on the back of the google nest hello.
however every single time I try, it goes back to the main google home menu, like nothing ever happened.

Want I don’t get to start with is, that I can’t login to my google next with my google account (which is also the account I created the google nest hello)

secondly, if the google nest hello app works fine, I believe it should also work in google home.

quite frustrating 😞

@MplsCustomer

Attached is a picture of the message I get when trying to login to Nest via google home .. my google credentials does not work here unfortunately

@Chrisflava

I'm still confused,

You simply CANNOT "add" the Google Nest Hello Doorbell to the Google Home app, not through "Works with Google" or anything else. It can ONLY be added in the Google Nest app, and it thereafter appears AUTOMATICALLY in the Google Home app if everything is set up correctly (as noted in my earlier reply, like using the same account for both apps and accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure").

I don't understand how you even get to the screen you're showing above.  Is this something you're getting to from the Google Home app?  I can't duplicate it.

If you used your Google account to log into the Google Nest app to install your Google Nest Hello Doorbell originally, I don't understand why you can no longer log into the Google Nest app anymore. How ARE you logging into your Google Nest app? You should be logging in by selecting the "Sign in with Google" option.

Did you start using the Google Nest app before August 19, 2019, and did you install your Google Nest Hello Doorbell before that? If so, you need to migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account if you have not done so already. (If you do NOT have a "Migrate to a Google Account" option under Settings | Account in the Google Nest app, then you have already migrated or you started using the Google Nest app after August 19, 2019.

 Thank you again for your response and you spend time on helping.

Sorry if I’m not making things absolutely clear.
Firstly, both apps (nest app + google home) works fine separately.

I have used my google account to login and use nest app.
Login details for both apps are exactly the same, which is my gmail.
The nest does not appear in google home at all automatically.
I have tried to reset everything, doorbell and both apps, however the nest still does not appear in my google home.

@Chrisflava

When you open the Google Nest app, the name of the "home" that displays under the word "Home" near the top of the screen should be the same as the name of the "home" that displays at the top of the screen when you open the Google Home app.

Did you by any chance start using the Google Nest app before August 19, 2019? If so, has it been migrated to a Google Account? (If it has NOT been migrated, then you will still have a "Migrate to a Google Account" option under Settings | Account in the Google Nest app.

@MplsCustomer i only started using the google nest hello 8 months ago.
and I am using the same name for both nest app and google home - running thin on ideas on how to solve it.
Any ideas whatsoever are greatly appreciated.

so far I have restarted everything by factory reset, deleted and re downloaded the apps, restarted the iPhone and triple checked all details are the same. Attached are pictures of both the nest app and google home,  home address

@Chrisflava

Yes, you're using the same "home".

I am out of ideas. I'm just another Google Nest customer, but this is supposed to work. When we added a Google Nest Hello Doorbell to the Google Nest app in January of this year, it automatically appeared in the Google Home app; we didn't have to do anything.

It looks like you've tried everything. Perhaps you have to try Support again unless someone else in this forum has a suggestion.

Hi folks,

I appreciate your efforts here. Let’s have a better look — could you check your account settings on both Nest app and Home app if you’re signed into the same email address?

I appreciate the help here, RXShorty and MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

JT
