Delayed Nest Doorbell Notifications

Glewis1

All of a sudden, I'm getting delayed notifications from my Nest Hello Doorbell, in most cases I don't get the notification until I unlock my phone. I have no issues with internet speed (900Mb Fibre), my router is literally 5m from my doorbell. The amount of times I've had to factory reset Google products is a joke! My Pixel 9 Pro has had 2 factory resets in the last 10 months because of other issues. This is the 3rd replacement Nest doorbell I've had.

Hi there!

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're experiencing delayed notifications from your Nest Hello, and the notifications often only appear once you unlock your phone. I know how frustrating an issue like this is, especially since this is the third replacement doorbell you've received, in addition to the two factory resets you've had to perform on your Pixel 9 Pro. No worries, help is here!

To better assist you with accurate information, I’d like to confirm the following:

  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • Are other mobile devices in your home experiencing similar notification delays, or just this one phone?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the doorbell?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

I have my network split out the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz (advertise 2 SSIDs), with the doorbell connected to the 2.4Ghz (I don't think it supports 5Ghz if I'm correct?)

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up.
It's recommended that you connect your Nest Hello to a 2.4 GHz network, as it has a wider and more stable signal strength than a 5 GHz network.
To help isolate the issue, I would appreciate it if you could answer the two previous questions.
Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Melany

2.4GHz

Just Google Home notifications. Other apps notifications are fine

Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the doorbell?

No

Hi there!

Thanks for your reply!
In order to address this issue, please sign in to your account on another mobile device. Then, test the doorbell by walking in front of the device to see if you still have notification delays.
Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
Melany
