Disappointed that I can't see my new nest cam Gen2 on the nest app or web page

I received my new nest cam gen2 and it can only be set up on Google Home... Why is it even called Nest Cam?  Now I have a new camera that I can't see over the Internet.  I also purchased a Yale Lock and that one came with a Nest Connect device... I had to set up using the Nest app like all my previous devices...  So why not keep it all on the nest app?

I would have purchased a Gen1 camera if I knew this was going to happen...  Not happy anymore.  I purchased Nest devices because I was able to monitor them over the web.  No need to open the google home app that just works on phones.

Fuc#ing misleading!! Just purchased 2 new cameras indoor/outdoor - they will not connect with Nest App. The other ones does! So WTF Google!? Just ditch entirely the Nest app and improve the Home app - because it sucks!!!

This should be known already… don’t fu#k with your customers patience. Increase the products costs whatever but don’t fu#k with us.

I think virtually all existing Google Nest customers, including myself, who have purchased the new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released in the fall of 2021 have been disappointed and startled to discover that they do not work with the Google Nest app or the home.nest.com website and that they lack some of the functionality of our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad,

I just got 2 new nest outdoor cameras today. If this is how they work I want to return them. Being able to see multiple cameras simultaneously in a a web browser is 10 year old technology. It is useless to have to scroll with the home app through each camera one at the time to see what is going on. Are you saying you can no longer view multiple cameras simultaneously?

No, that is not what I said. I was letting you know that the new Cameras are exclusive to the Google Home App. At this time, is not yet available via a web app like the nest web app was. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. I am afraid I do not have any ETA to provide.

Best regards,

Brad.

Hi,

I have been a long standing nest customer for many years. I own 3 smoke alarms, 3 cameras, a doorbell and even imported the alarm system from the USA. This Christmas I purchased the new doorbell and was shocked to realise it is exclusive to the google home app.
1. the interface is inferior to the nest app

2. it lacks features of the nest app

3. using 2 apps is appalling for the customer

4. Lacks web support

5. I wouldn’t even call the hardware nor software specs an upgrade over previous cameras (that’s another debate)

When companies such as google make a catastrophic mistake such as this, we as the customer must use our rights to return the products and boycot them.

for me personally, I will be swapping my whole ecosystem to RING.

*TL:DR return all nest google products and buy RING until they start listening to customer feedback*
