Doorbell camera angle

We’ve had our doorbell camera for a couple years and it’s been great. All of a sudden the camera angle is pointed at the ground and very zoomed in. You can still zoom in when on the app, so I know it’s not that. We’ve already reset it once and it is still the same. Any advice?

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell camera angle suddenly zoomed in and is pointing at the ground. I'm happy to assist you.

Could you tell me the model of your Nest Doorbell and whether you initially installed it in the Google Home app or the Nest app?

Since you mentioned you can still zoom in and out from the app and have reset your Nest Doorbell, please confirm if you followed the correct steps to reset your Nest Doorbell as indicated below:

  1. Depending on the model of your Nest Doorbell, follow the steps to factory reset it in the article Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell.
  2. After the factory reset, remove your Nest Doorbell by opening the Google Home app, selecting your Nest Doorbell (either on Favorites or Devices), tapping the three-dot menu, choosing Settings, and then selecting Remove device > Remove.
  3. Connect your Nest Doorbell to the app as indicated in the article Install Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).
    • If you have a Nest Doorbell (battery), just follow the same steps in the article above to connect it to the app.

As a recommendation, try clicking the small icon in the bottom left of your Nest Doorbell's live view screen, since you previously mentioned trying to zoom in and out, as described in the article Zoom and enhance Nest camera video.
