Hey thanks for helping me if you can.
Recently started a new life style with the family and we're exploring the states via an RV fulltime.
I'm not feeling comfortable drilling into the side of our camper due to water leaking into the inside. Super thin walls as you can imagine. Double sided industrial mounting tape holds the doorbell perfectly and is still removable when we move the camper.
I just can't get past the "Camera isn't mounted unable to view video" at time. Some times it works perfectly and others it doesn't. The silver mounting plate is on the back of the doorbell.

Hi @Trippd,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that after installing your Nest Doorbell using double-sided industrial mounting tape, you are getting an error message saying that the 'Camera isn't mounted.' Let me share some information with you about this!
Regarding the error "Camera isn't mounted" that you are seeing: This happens because the Nest Doorbell has a built-in sensor that detects if it is securely locked onto the metal base plate. If it doesn't sense this secure connection, it limits functionality (like video streaming) to preserve battery life.
Since you are using mounting tape on an RV, it is common to receive this message because the tape can cause slight unevenness. While I understand that you don’t want to drill into your wall to avoid water leaks, it is highly recommended to screw the mount into the wall. This ensures the plate is perfectly flat so the sensors engage correctly and your device can start recording.
I hope this information helps!
Best regards,
Debora
