Doorbell going offline

Hi brains trust,

I have a nest doorbell that has running faultlessly for about a month and needed it's first charge. I gave it a charge to around 95% and re-installed onto bracket next to door( nothing else has changed in that hour or so, eg modem, internet etc).

It's started going offline sporadically and has got worse and worse as the weeks roll on. No it's off more than it's on! I did a reset, nothing changed still goes off line, I've reset my internet, again still .goes off line. And finally did a full hard factory reset, which worked sort off( held pin in hole for ten seconds got the noise but no yellow flash (x4) from led. Then 10 minutes of nothing............. Then pow it's up and running as good as gold again!!!!!!!

Fixed!!!! Er No. It's now dropping out more than ever and a one stage the app showed (in center of circle) 0%-battery issue , but the top left corner said I still had 95%.

Can anyone help before I put this thing in the bin,!

Hi Gpy74,  I'm an end-user like you.  If you read thru this forum for the last 6 months you will see that the new Nest Doorbell (Battery) has a list of problems a mile long.   My suggestion is to return it for a refund if you can.  I ended up doing that and purchased a used previous-gen Nest HELLO doorbell from eBay and it works with the NEST app which is far superior to the Google Home app.   And it is an almost flawless product compared to the new one.    ... just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. Im doing just that tomorrow, it's going back! Either replaced or cash back. Was looking at nest batt cameras too but this has left a bitter taste so might look at Ring or Arlo instead.

At some point (hopefully) the Google Home app will have ALL the features of the NEST app. But until then their system is just not usable in my opinion.

Also, check out the cameras from Eufy.  I have been using them and I like them a lot.  Very affordable and has lots of features.  They even have a new doorbell they just release that is pretty cool.  It has (2) cameras inside of it. One to see the person coming and another aimed down at the ground to see if a package is sitting there.
