Doorbell, indoor and outdoor cameras always turning off

Fabian94

I have an indoor nest cam, outdoor nest cam, and nest doorbell that will turn off at random times and fail to capture any events. I bought this bundle no more than 2 months ago. I have tried resetting, factory resetting, and turning off the home assist/routines. I’ve seen numerous posts about similar issues but the only advice the moderators can give is to factory reset yet this doesn’t work in my case. Nobody from customer service has reached out after submitting my feedback. At this point I would really like to switch to a different home monitoring system because nothing seems to be working. Any help would be appreciated.

@Fabian94

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but it would be unusual to have 3 defective Google Nest cameras at the same time. Are you confident that you have good Wi-Fi signal strength at the locations of all three cameras? Does your Wi-Fi have sufficient download and upload speeds? Do you use any unusual Wi-Fi settings?

We have an Xfinity router/modem and 2 Linksys routers configured as access points. We don't use home/away or any other routines. We have just the standard settings on our routers, with one SSID for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. With 900 Mbps download and 16 Mbps upload speeds, all of our cameras, doorbells, and hubs are online and live virtually all the time.

Hi folks,

@Fabian94 thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear about what's happening to your Nest Camera. I agree with what MplsCustomer has said, it's unusual to have all of them turning off at the same time. To know more about this, I'd like to know if there were any recent changes with your Wifi settings? Do you have the battery or wired type of Nest cameras and Nest doorbell? Were there any recent power outage in your area?

In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,
Emerson
