This doorbell is peeling.  I get it is out of warranty but at least they should offer to buy a new case.  Even the lens cover fell off.  Poor product

last time I purchase anything from them

What is strange is that there is a 2 year warranty on the unit itself. But.....not on the protective coating as it is considered "consumable". Consumable implies "used up" yet there is no way to replace/repair after sales. I mean when you buy a printer, a toner cartridge is consumable but doesn't mean I have to buy a whole new printer 😄

Now say if you had a pixel phone that needed repair then you can get google to repair under warranty or at a cost if out of warranty. https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/9004345?hl=en-GB

Just no such thing exists for doorbell product. They probably should of had it made as gorilla glass inside of plastic for lens part and metal for the rest. Very low cost.

I think the fact that there are over 350 threads on peeling Google Nest Hello Doorbells in this forum alone--often with several customers posting on each--is an argument that the peeling may be "due to a defect in materials or workmanship".
