Double Notifications from Cameras

Magical_House99

I am getting 2 notifications for every event from all of my installed cameras. I have 1 wired doorbell, 1 wired floodlight camera and 1 battery outdoor camera. Only logged into one account on the Google Home app. Is there a fix for this?

Hi Magical_House99,

Thanks for reaching out. There is a possibility that both email and app notifications are both enabled. Check out the steps below on how to adjust these notifications.

Nest app:

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. On the app home screen, tap Settings.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Select the preferred camera to change alert settings for.

Google Home app (General notifications):

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Settings   Notifications.
  3. Select General notifications.
  4. Turn any notifications on or off.

Note: If you turn on critical alerts, but are not enabled in your phone’s settings, a banner will appear at the top of their screen. To turn on critical alerts in your phone’s settings, tap the link in the banner and follow the steps.

Google Home app (Email notifications):

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap account (yourinitial or your profile picture).
  3. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to the Nest Camera. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  4. Tap Home app settings  Email notifications.
  5. Turn any email notifications on or off.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Juni
