Floodlight 5Ghz

My Nest Floodlight was connected to my 5Ghz network yesterday. This morning I was shocked to see it connected to my 2.4Ghz network (which is a totally different SSID). Not even sure how that's possible, unless the camera used a saved wifi password from my account. I reset the camera today to setup once more on the 5Ghz network and I was surprised to see that it was not detected. I proceeded to check the tech specs of the Floodlight and was floored to see that the 5Ghz network isn't supported on Canada but it is in the US. How is it possible that I was able to connect to the 5Ghz network a week ago but today I cannot? Is there any way to force it to allow 5Ghz like in the US?

No, this is a product limitation that should be addressed. Exterior 5ghz networks have been allowed for four years already in Canada, there's no reason why this product should be hobbled at this point.
