Floodlight

I have installed a new nest cam with floodlight.  The camera shows up in the Google Home app but I can’t see the floodlight anywhere?  It says I should be able to adjust the floodlight settings but I can’t when I don’t see anything about the floodlight.  I am able to control camera just fine.  I have tried everything except a factory reset.  Any suggestions?

When the Google Home app asked you which product you are adding, did you select Nest Cam with floodlight?

Yes, I chose the floodlight with camera option.  I actually went back disconnected, factory reset and started all over, the floodlight showed up for around a day on Google Home but then it disappeared.  There have been similar posts on here and the person from Google said he did not have an answer.  Thanks!

I appreciate the help @David_K. Let's get this sorted out. A few questions:

 

  1. What is the Google Home app version?
  2. What phone are you using?
  3. Is this happening on multiple phones?

Please gather a screenshot of your Google Home app when you click the camera and go to settings.

Hi app version is 2.50.105.  I took a screenshot but not sure how to add in reply message?

I am using iPhone 13 ProMax.

I do not have any other phones to use so this is only phone, but since it showed up for about a day I don’t believe it could be the phone?  When I read other forum posts with the same issue they have either had more than one floodlight and the others worked fine or they went out and bought a new floodlight and it worked?  The strange thing is the camera and lights work but aside from seeing it under my google home app and able to control it for a day only the camera continues to show up without issue?

Hi, Jvermilye.  Mine worked great for about 3 months, then the lights disappeared following a Home app update.  I've been through the whole app reinstall, camera/floodlight factory reset process with no luck.  I can control the camera fine.  The floodlight works with motion outside and I can control it with the light switch.  It simply disappeared from the app following an update.  Happened to multiple users, too (you can see them in other threads).   Not sure there is much you can do.   I've already called in a few times and got the reinstall/reload routine, and I'm not doing that any more.  Pretty sure it was something with the Home app, since that is what kicked the whole problem off.
