I am going to try this forum out with no expectations, as I have been digging through looking for solutions to my problem and not finding anything close. And since Google is too cheap to hire real tech support people that you can actually talk to, you can make **bleep** sure I won't buy another Google product again and will tell everyone I know about this awful experience! Now that I have had my say, I will get to my problem. I bought and installed two cameras for a home that I am not living in but still have power and internet service to. One camera would keep losing connection, even though it was closer to the router than the other camera which I have had very little connection problems with. The bad camera also gives me battery status, even though it is plugged in. I noticed the receptacle that it was plugged into was not in the best shape, so I replaced it with a new receptacle so there would be no power issues. I still received battery status and had connection issues. I decide to delete the camera and reinstall it. And that was the last time the camera worked! I have tried everything that I can possibly find on this forum and nothing will work. Why this camera cannot be factory reset is a major mistake that is inexcusable! Now then, since I have used the email form and cannot get through the form to have a real person call me, tell me great Google moderator, how do I get a full refund for this garbage I have bought? Because I know I am still not going to get an answer for my problem that will work before the thread gets closed, or the moderator decides that I am an a-hole and deletes this post!

A while back I had to reset the camera by small the button on the bottom held for a while till a beep (assuming you’re talking about the google nest camera battery). But had a bitch of a time reconnecting it back to my home and online took a while and had customer service help took days. But seems like you’re having an issue that I am having now where my camera randomly go offline not making them reliable. I’m thinking about cutting my losses on all four of my cameras with google nest. Not an issue with connection too so you may be on to something on wanting to run from google nest.

I have cut my losses and have thrown the Google cameras in the garbage where they belong! I am now a Blink customer! The devices cost less and since I have two houses that I want to monitor, I can get unlimited devices recording activity for $100 (US) per year. I will also be buying other devices from them for my smart home needs. They have a toll-free tech support number for people who live in the US and Canada. I'm just fortunate to have learned this lesson before I started buying more of this unsupported garbage from Google!

It appears that Google is more interested in giving customers a badge for coming to this site than actually giving any decent tech support. Google Nest is a joke and a very bad one that has been played on me. It won't happen again; I promise you that! The next reply I expect is one saying that this thread has been closed.

I can definitely understand the frustration you must be feeling, but I am afraid we cannot complete this request in the forum. You will need to fill out that form, and wait for support to reach out to you with next steps. Please let me know when the form has been filled out.
Best regards,
Brad

Hey there,
I can imagine this has been stressful for you, and I would like to look into this further. Please fill out this form, and a higher tier of support will reach out to you with next steps. We are unable to process these requests ourselves here in the community forums.
As a side note; we unfortunately do not offer replacements for parts. If your device is no longer under warranty, we aren't able to offer a replacement.

I have filled out that form twice and it doesn't do a bit of good! This is what should be on the welcoming page for this forum:
WELCOME TO GOOGLE TECH SUPPORT, WHERE YOU EARN BADGES FOR FILLING OUT FORMS AND DON'T GET ANY REAL HELP BECAUSE GOOGLE ALREADY HAS YOUR MONEY AND NOW YOU ARE FINDING OUT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SCREWED!

I got the following email from Google:
Hello Don,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Customer Care Team.
We are reaching out because of a warranty claim you filed through our form. My name is Scherla, a Technical Specialist from the Google Nest support team.
To assist you better, please provide the best time and callback number to reach you so we can further discuss the issue over the phone.
I gave them a time to call and never got a phone call! Google already has my money, so they do not care! Google can kiss my A-S-S!

Hi there,
As it seems you no longer have the devices, this thread is marked as complete. We'll leave this topic open for another 24 hours in case there are any follow-up questions or comments.
Best regards,
Brad

That's right, I no longer have the devices because Google's business model is to take as much money from their suckered customers, then put up this tech support farce, and expect the sheep to bend over and take it! I will say this, this experience has taught me to look deeper inside a company that I plan on buying numerous amounts of equipment from and not just depend on my perception of a company's reputation, as Google has proven that to be detrimental to one's finances! I will deal with legitimate security companies who have legitimate tech support structures and pity those that are duped into buying Google's inferior garbage!
