Google Cam 2nd Gen

So I've have a couple of Nest Cams and they work well in the Nest app and the home app.

Today I bought a third, that although says Google Nest is doesnt work with the Nest app at all.

Nor I can't set up a schedule to turn the camera on or off nor can I, if I rush out, manually turn the camera on.  AND if I'm out but the kids are home, I can't just turn it in and check on things.

So my question is where is the option to turn the cameras on or off? This to me is almost a deal breaker and I may well return the new one and start with a competent security cam setup. When will this be added?

Making sure I am reading your post correct.  If you leave the house, kids are home you want the cameras on?

There is a presence setting but that will turn them on and off when you leave and off when you return.

Or you can  open home app, cameras, turn on before you leave.  Let me know

Hi Dazzadog,

Adding to what @S3bryan  has said, the new Nest cameras do not yet have the ability to schedule on/off times like the Nest app provided.

You can however use the 'routines' feature to achieve the same thing. You could also use the home/away assist feature to have this done automatically.

Have a look at the Google Nest help center link below for more information.

You can also manually turn your cameras on/off within the Google Home app view, (see screenshot below).
