Google Doorbell battery stopped charging randomly

My doorbell recently stopped charging and died. Randomly would say it’s plugged in and charge. The transformer is the one needed to powers the doorbell. I think it’s the doorbell itself why would it charge and then not. States it’s plugged in which it wired to the chime. Have it off to charge hoping it was a glitch
