I currently utilize 9 older versions of the Nest Cams that I use for security at my place of business and we use the Nest Web App to view cameras all at one time. We had a break in and there was an area where we needed to buy another camera. Older versions of the Nest Cams were unavailable so we purchased the New Nest Cam Outdoor. Found out we couldn't add that camera to the Nest Web App (Wish that was disclosed a little more clearer).
1. With the new Nest Cam we lost the ability to create customized long video clips that we can send to authorities.
2. We are now stuck with a camera that can't be viewed with the rest of the cameras on the Nest Web App for our security.
3. We lost the ability to do time lapse videos on the new camera
4. I was told by customer service that you are currently working on a Web App for Google Home to create an experience like the Nest Web App. Is there a beta version of this web app where I can be a tester and provide feedback?
I would prefer to not have a gap in security features that we currently love with the Nest Web App and have to wait for the newer version to come out.
We discovered the same thing when we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) back in September 2021. Seven months later, we're still waiting for Google Nest to provide our new camera with the same functionality as our old cameras.
Totally forgot how long ago this product launched. I'm surprised there's not more complaints like this. I'm also surprised a product like this was released with loss of nest features without replacement. Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this
Yes, this has been an ongoing problem for over 6 months now. I couldn't wait so I ended up returning the new cameras and purchased (2) used (Gen 1) cameras from ebay and they have worked out great. At some point if and when Google enhances the GOOGLE HOME app to have the features of the NEST app then I will consider going to the new hardware. But until then I'm staying on the old cameras.
