Google Home device

I have a Google Home device that keeps losing connection with my doorbell. But my iphone and computer don't lose connection. I thought this was a Nest doorbell issue and even replaced the doorbell to the latest one, and replaced my transformer... but now believe that maybe the GoogleHome doesn't work as a 24/7 display for the doorbell. Any ideas here?

It's just like their camera quality, it sucks. And they don't stand behind it either, all you get is we are sorry and will learn from this. But all the threads on here prove that they haven't learned anything but empty promises.

@mrkimmosley

You could try just a simple reboot on your Google Home device, either from within the Google Home app or by unplugging your Google Home device briefly, to see if that resolves the issue.

Yes, tried that. It seems that it has a sleep mode. This morning I just saw the clock. Is there a setting I"m missing to get it to work 24/7?

@mrkimmosley

We haven't tried using any of our Nest Hubs as a 24/7 monitor. I have, however, seen posts from other customers who seem to have problems doing this.

Also, Google Nest seems to initiate some sort of soft reboot of our Nest Hubs around 3 am. I don't know if it's all the time, and others in this forum have commented on this occurring as well. I wonder whether this 3 am reboot would disrupt or cut off 24/7 viewing of one of your cameras.

And I don't know what happens if you're streaming a camera to your Nest Hub and then turn off all the lights, which normally dims the Nest Hub display.

Hello everyone,

@mrkimmosley thanks for posting here in the Community. The wired Nest Cameras or Nest Doorbells should stream live video for up to 12 hours. If your Nest Cameras or Nest Doorbell is on battery power, it can only stream for up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, you'll need to reactivate the live stream in your app to continue with the stream. Hit this link for more information.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Emerson

Thank you all for your responses. Sometimes I need to unplug the google home device to get it to see the doorbell. And sometimes it goes off and I have to select the doorbell again. I guess that's just what it does.
