Google Nest Battery Doorbell

I’ve installed the doorbell, set up my zones, activated what should be monitored (people, animals etc….). The camera/video does not activate until I, or anything else is practically on top of it.  It does not begin video/activate literally until something is right up on the doorbell.  Am I missing anything.

Hi Gilbertr,  I don't think you are missing anything.  Mine does that do.  Under this new design the doorbell goes to sleep to preserve battery.  When it sees motion it wake up and starts recording but it is a bit slow.   I have a number clips where the delivery guy has put down the package and starts walking away so all I ever is his back.

That I understand but here is the part I don't understand.  I have mine wired to power 24/7. So there is no reason to be in sleep mode.  And get this:  I also have the Nest Aware subscription and the old doorbell had 24/7 recording but the new one does not, even if powered by wire.   I'm so frustrated over this.  If you read the other posts here you will see how many people are upset and have returned their cameras for a refund.  One more thing.  On the new cameras there is no way to view the cameras from your Computer's browser.  That is gone as well.

Thank you for the information.  This product is a complete disappointment.

I have the exact same problem. It is maddening. I will get a notification of a package yet there will be no video of the person that dropped the package off. I can walk from my truck thirty feet away in plain view of the doorbell and it won't record me until I'm about to touch the door knob.
