Google Nest Cam battery late wake-up/recording renders it useless

Just purchased a two pack Google Nest Cam battery and I have to say that after the initial excitement I became
pretty dissapointed with its reccuring late wake-up from Idle in order to record detected persons.

4 out of 5 videos, with Person notifications, do not show anything because the camera woke up and started filming too late. This makes the product useless for me at this moment. Really having a hard time deciding on whether I should sell it and buy something else or wait for an update, which as I see from similar unsolved posts dating from September, is being unreasonably delayed...

Help!

P.S. Choosing High wake-up sensitivity doesn't change anything.

I have the Nest Cam "Floodlight" version, and I am happy with the recording. Mine are hardwired, but use the battery camera, so maybe it makes a difference. I don't guess you can make them hardwired? I had the same problem with my blink camera system that also ran on battery. Most of the time, it recorded too late, so I know what you are saying, but I believe the Nest cams are suppose to include a a few seconds before, so that would tell me it would have to be recording all the time in order to include the entire clip + a few seconds before. Someone at Google perhaps can chime in and explain.

For a camera to record before means it is recording before it detected the actual event. This doesn't work for a battery camera since it will drain the battery really fast.

Now if it was plugged in all the time, then it might be able to do it, but the software inside the camera is still acting like it was a battery camera, so even though you have an infinite battery, it will still wait until the event falls within the trigger's sensitivity threshold before actually powering everything up.

I can't imagine how it was released to the public without going through more extensive beta testing. Or whoever was in charge of the beta testing failed to really understand how their customers would use the camera.
