Google Nest Camera Set

The message I keep getting is that I need to get closer to other nest devices connected to the same wifi. As I sit here on my phone I am within 10 feet of all devices and router. There is no option to do anything other than quit...

Maybe it is because your cam setup must be done with Google Home app. What is your cam model?

are you within the return window?  If so, I would 10000% recommend returning it. Did you know you can't use 2-way voice on the doorbells?  It doesn't work if you have a samsung phone. @User123456 has known about it for over a year and hasn't done anything about it.  So, I have an expensive doorbell that will not allow me to even talk to folks at the front door.  Useless!  Return it if you can!

Just to say, the Nest cam and doorbell can work very well with a Samsung phone : I have differents cams and a doorbell, and everything is fine and work with Home app in my some-old Samsung Galaxy as with my Pixel. I speak regulary with my kids with the 2ways. Your experiment (if so, or hearsay) of absolute incompatibily with Samsung phone is misleading.

With more informations from @dpdeardorff we could fix the problem instead of throw the baby with bathwater.
