Just installed 2nd Gen Google Nest wired door bell. With the chime there is also a standard rear doorbell button attached. The plunger for the rear door bell is in constant movement now but not enough to hit the striker plate. Making a loud hum. Measured 8 volts across the R(ear) and T(ransformer) terminals on the chime, this why the plunger is constantly on. Any suggestions on how to stop the plunger? The humming is quite annoying.
Thanks.

One possibility is that you may have your chime puck wired incorrectly. Another possibility is that your doorbell transformer is inadequate.

Thanks for your reply. I did re checked wiring all secure and not touching any other wires. The chime is attached to T(ransformer) and F(ront) as mentioned in the guide.
Transformer is 16V @ 15VA which is within spec of the what the Nest needs for power.
The doorbell itself works great. Video and mic work as they should.
Would you have any other suggestions?
Thanks.

What's odd to me is that the plunge for your standard rear doorbell button is the one that's in constant movement, as if there is some very slight current running through your rear doorbell's wires. That's why I suggested checking the wiring.
Your chime puck is wired as shown in the "One Nest doorbell, one standard doorbell, one chime" diagram?
The other observation I would have is that many customers in this forum, including us, have upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer to get our 1st and 2nd gen doorbells to work properly. I know that's more than Google Nest's stated minimum, but it's solved doorbell problems for more than a few of us. I think the power needed for a doorbell transformer is affected by the distance wires have to run to the doorbell.

Thanks for the input. I was looking for a diagram with my set up and with your help I have found it. I will check the wiring from the diagram and confirm that the original install of the doorbell and chime was correct.
