Google Nest Doorbell Getting Hot and Now it Doesn't Work

I have a Google Nest (Wired) Doorbell that I have had for a little over two years.  It stopped working a couple of days ago.  To the touch it was really hot.  I disconnected it and let it cool down for a few hours.  I then hooked it back up and tried doing a reset and that did not work.  I also checked the voltage to the doorbell which was 19 volts.  Is this thing fried?  Or is there a fix for it?  I have several Google Products and they all have been Great.  I currently have a Pixel 6 Pro and Love it.  I am really disappointed in this product for not lasting any longer than it has.  Do you have any suggestions or can you provide any help with my issue?  I have also noticed it has started peeling like others I have seen do it other Post.

According to the chart which I found here, I don't see why 19 volts would be an issue. It's possible that it's hardware failure and in that case, I would contact their support team via email. I've had terrible support from the phone line and this forum seems to be no better. Good luck though, my problems are horrible and I think I may be out of luck as I'm afraid you may be too.Screenshot 2022-08-29 142202.png

Yes...that is the chart I went by.  I am afraid I will get the same response as you through Google Support.  Seems like True Customer Service and Support is a thing of the past.  Thanks for your reply!

Might be the latter then; a case of hardware failure. Google doesn't stand behind anything nowadays. It's possible you could get an RMA or something like that, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Hi folks,

@Morata, thanks for your insights.

@T_Bolt, oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. Please discontinue using your Nest Hello doorbell (wired) as it may cause harm to you. Let's check this out — could you please fill out this form so we could further investigate?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

JT
