Google Nest Doorbell - No yellow light after reset

I've a 9-month old Nest Doorbell which has been working fine until yesterday when it lost camera video. The doorbell doesn’t work when the button is pressed. The App indicates that it is offline. However, after performing a factory reset by pressing the back of the device for 60 seconds, I can only see a white light followed by a green light. There is no yellow light or blue light after reset. I've plugged the doorbell for charging but cannot see a pulsing white light. There is strong WiFi signal at the doorbell. I've also removed doorbell from Nest app. Tried to reinstall on app but it didn’t work. Scanned QR code, went through the install process, no audible sounds and no blue ring light.
Can anyone offer any insight on how to resolve the issue above ?



Which doorbell do you have? Your post says you have a "Nest Doorbell (battery)", which gets installed in the Google Home app, but then you say you "removed doorbell from Nest app".

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Try plugging your Nest Doorbell to a different power outlet. You may also try using a different USB cable. In case you have the Nest Doorbell 1st gen, you may follow the steps below:


  1. Hold down two buttons on your doorbell for about 10 seconds:
    • Hold down the reset pin on the back (insert the release tool or paperclip into the hole near the top).
    • At the same time, hold down the big doorbell button on the front.
  2. Your doorbell will chime and its light ring will start spinning blue, then flash yellow, and then all the lights will turn off. Release the two buttons.
  3. The factory reset is complete when your camera chimes and the light ring starts slowly pulsing blue.
  4. After the factory reset, your doorbell will appear as "Offline" in the app until you remove it.
