Google Nest Doorbell Wired, 2nd Gen CONSTANT out of zone notifictions

There is no proper category for this.  Anyway I have a ZONE setup for my doorbell camera which runs about 10 feet up the front door sidewalk from the doorbell.  I am constantly getting "out of the zone" notifications when someone walks along my property ON THE STREET which is over 50 FEET away and about 40 feet from the end of the saved zone.   Cars don't trigger it only people walking along the street near the curb.  YES! ALL OUT OF ZONE NOTIFICATIONS ARE DISABLED!. I have removed and readded the zone multiple times and disabled reenabled all the zone toggles.

I also have a Google Nest Cam (battery) which is powered with the outdoor power cable on my driveway which obeys in/out of my zone 100% flawlessly.  Just the doorbell is problematic.   Both stream 24/7 if that matters.

Hi there,

Thanks for bringing up the concern you're having. I'd love to look into this for you. You could attempt to add a zone in the areas that you are getting notifications in, and turn off all of the alerts in that area to narrow it down to only the main zones you want the notifications in. I hope that makes sense, but that would be my first suggestion to try.

Best regards,

The problem with your suggestion since there is no way to create zones on a large PC screen as there was with the previous app and cameras it’s very difficult to fill in zones where it has to be because the phone screen is so relatively tiny vs a 36” monitor and lacks detail. That being said it should work properly without a workaround like was suggested.

I’ll just live with it but am very disappointed in the loss of a fully functioning app on a computer.  Had I known that I wouldn’t have “upgraded”    cameras.

Hi RetiredInFl,

I know it's been some time since this was addressed, but I wanted to let you know that I am going to pass you comments along to our internal teams as feedback and in the form of a feature request. I'm happy that the workaround will work for you, but I understand why you want to see more in regards to functionality. Aside from passing that along, is there anything else I can help you out with?

Thanks,

Jeff
