Hello,
I purchased a Google Nest Doorbell (wired) via Amazon.COM.
I installed it and it is functioning very well. (I am an English-speaking Canadian currently living in Bogota, Colombia)
I subsequently learned that I am prevented from setting up the facial recognition (even for Family members) to configure 'logically' by assigning names:
"Nest Aware is not available in your country"
I had signed up for use of Google's "Nest Aware"; only to Cancel the subscription after encountering the above alert of unavailability.
In my opinion, this impediment is basically illogical. It is reasonable to rationally use the doorbell, as designed, to correctly identify and notify when a family member has arrived home.
That being said, if I change my Google profile back to my Canadian address, would "Nest Aware" then be free to properly function as expected?
Obviously I am trying to resolve the matter by simply enabling and maximizing the intended use of the doorbell camera.
Thanks very much.
Bob

Hello Dr_Bob,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand that you wanted to use the Familiar face feature however, it's not available in your country and setting up your profile's address to Canada would not be recommended as your Location from your mobile phone is enabled and the Nest server will detect it. I'd suggest you send yours with our Send Feedback form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.
Regards,
Emerson
